About the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change (EUC)

The Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change (EUC) was established in 2020 as a call to action, responding to the most pressing challenges facing people and the planet. EUC was created by the faculty, staff and students of the former Department of Geography, the Faculty of Environmental Studies, and other units at York.

Our goal is to inspire and prepare students for careers and engaged citizenship through experiential education, critical thinking, hands-on-research, and leadership skills. Our research spans the biophysical sciences, social sciences, and the arts, pushing the frontiers of urban, environmental and geographical knowledge.
