For most research support and services at EUC, the first stop is our Research Officer, Rhoda Reyes. At the university level, support is also provided by Research Accounting, the Office of Research Ethics, the Office of Research Services and other units under the Vice President Research and Innovation. For many researchers, university-level Organized Research Units (i.e. research centres) also provide extensive research support.
Research Ethics
All researchers at York who are collecting data that involves human respondents, animals or biological agents must seek approval from York’s Office of Research Ethics (ORE), except in cases where an internal process of review is undertaken by a delegated committee within EUC or its graduate programs.
Further information on ORE procedures is available through the link below. Graduate and undergraduate students should also seek guidance from their program directors, instructors or supervisors.
Research Funding
Research funding for faculty members is available from internal EUC sources, University sources, and from external funding agencies. Information on funding competitions and deadlines is circulated through the EUC Research Update.
Further information and assistance is provided by EUC’s Research Officer, Rhoda Reyes. Graduate and undergraduate student research funding is also available from diverse sources – information is available from program directors, instructors and supervisors.
Research Employment
Graduate and undergraduate students are often employed to undertake research, data analysis or administrative tasks as part of research projects. Opportunities for undergraduate students are posted on the Experience York website. Graduate student employment is most commonly arranged through supervisors.
Visitors & Postdoctoral Researchers
EUC welcomes scholars holding external postdoctoral fellowships. Further information on postdoctoral opportunities and procedures is available through York’s Faculty of Graduate Studies. EUC also welcomes self-funded visiting scholars through a selection process administered at the faculty level.
