Program: Global Geography, Concurrent Education (BEd)
Year of study: 3rd year year
Office Hours: Tuesday 1:00pm-2:00pm
High school or other academic institutions attended: St. Elizabeth Catholic High School
Reason for choosing program: I have always been interested in the environment and the relationship that people have with it. Geography allows us to observe and analyze an innumerable variety of factors pertaining to the environment and its ever-changing nature. It is also a field of study which is applicable to many aspects of our daily lives, such as conservation, politics, sustainability, economics, planning and many more inside and outside of the workplace. Additionally, I plan to focus on the effects of anthropogenic activities on native wildlife and find ways to contain and attempt to reverse the damage done.
Intentions for the future: After my undergraduate degree in Global Geography, I will be completing a Bachelor's of Education through the concurrent education program. Following that, I will be pursuing a career in education, where I plan to teach Geography and History at the high school level. There, I will implement what I have learned and inspire the next generation to carry the torch and work towards a sustainable future.
Favourite part of the program: I love the wide array of concepts introduced to me as well as the professors' passion for what they teach, which in turn inspires me to work hard towards achieving my goals as well as setting new ones for the future. The like-mindedness of everyone I have met across the program and faculty is nothing short of amazing.
