On June 14, 2024, York University’s Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change (EUC) celebrated its graduating Class of 2024 and their remarkable achievements. The convocation ceremony, held at the Keele Campus’ Sobeys Stadium, marked a significant milestone for the graduates as they gathered in their academic regalia alongside family, friends, and faculty members to commemorate years of dedication and hard work.
During the event we were greeted by esteemed alumna, Alia Abbas (MA ’17), who delivered an inspiring speech encouraging the new graduates to stay connected with the York community and to embrace the opportunities that lies ahead.
EUC is also proud to celebrate Professor Roger Keil who was honored as a Distinguished Research Professor during the ceremony.
Graduates, along with their loved ones, and faculty then enjoyed food and music at the Health, Nursing & Environmental Studies (HNES) building, where the celebrations continued as the Faculty of EUC hosted a special reception lunch. It was a joyous opportunity for graduates to mingle with those who’ve joined and supported them along their academic journey.
As the Class of 2024 embarks onto the next chapter, we welcome them into York’s global family of over 375,000 York alumni, a vibrant community with networking and mentoring opportunities.
We look forward to staying connected and can’t wait to see what’s in store for our graduates! For more information regarding Alumni benefits, click here.
