Projects may involve mapping environmental hazards, cultural heritage sites, development pressures or climate vulnerabilities in partnership with local communities. Emphasis is placed on democratizing data and elevating community knowledge systems. Students learn how to co-design mapping tools, facilitate workshops and interpret spatial data with care and accountability.
Faculty Involvement: Teach mapping methods and ethics, facilitate spatial analysis instruction and supervise research designs.
