Description

Students engage in environmentally principled design challenges that aim at addressing real-world pressing issues. This experience type further aims at deepening students’ understanding of environmental processes by engaging with EUC faculty members, external partners and other students.

Examples

Examples include designing:

  • Low-impact development systems for stormwater management.
  • Development of flood mitigation solutions.
  • Urban green corridors designed to support biodiversity.
  • Renewable energy transitions at campus or municipal levels.
  • Eco-conscious housing or community spaces using Indigenous design principles.

Faculty Involvement

EUC faculty members serve as mentors, helping students navigate technical and practical components of their designs. Projects may be carried out individually or in teams.

Partner Involvement

Co-develop project briefs, offer feedback throughout the design process and provide real-world context and expertise.
