Wild Garden Media Centre

Named in memory of dian marino: artist, activist, educator and former EUC faculty member, the Wild Garden Media Centre is a resource for all members of the EUC community who wish to use media arts as part of their course work, research or learning practices. The Centre’s facilities include:

  • Audio visual equipment and accessories available for loan
  • Digital video editing stations

Mandatory Orientation

Users must attend a mandatory orientation to access the Media Centre’s resources and to sign-out equipment.  Orientation sessions for the Media Centre’s facilities, and a series of workshops related to media production, are offered throughout the year.  Please contact the current Community Arts Practice Certificate Coordinator to schedule an orientation or to learn about future sessions.

Audio visual equipment loans

Audio visual equipment is available for loan through the EUC Help Desk.  After attending a mandatory orientation, users will be able to access the loan/sign-out system via eClass. Types of equipment available for loan include:

  • Digital and analog video/still cameras
  • Digital and analog sound recorders
  • Microphones
  • Speakers
  • Headphones
  • Projectors
  • Audio visual accessories and cabling

Special events and displays

Since 1994 the Faculty of Environmental Studies has hosted & coordinated the Eco Art & Media Festival, a multi day festival to celebrate and share diverse forms of creative expression. With the goal of inspiring engagement and dialogue around a chosen theme, various modes of expression are showcased, including visual art, music and performance, film/video/new media, spoken word and story telling, workshops and more.

The ZigZag Gallery: This is a space integrated into the student lounge on the main floor of the HNES building. The walls in the lounge are used on a rotating basis to display artwork created by members of the EUC community.

VideoWorx is a series of video & new media screenings (produced primarily by EUC students) offered during the Fall & Winter terms.
