Description: This course deals with urban environments outside the centre of the city. It develops an understanding of the characteristics and needs of planning for small and medium size towns, suburbs, exurbs and peripheries. Recognizing this diversity of urban form and life, the course, which contains site visits, presents approaches to planning and placemaking challenges typical for non-central communities.
