Experiential Learning

“Experiential Education, or EE, is a hands-on approach to learning in which you participate in practical activities and then reflect on those experiences using the concepts and theories learned from your

program. Whether it’s inside the classroom, out in the community or at work, EE helps you deepen your learning and develop important  professional and life skills, such as communication, problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration and civic engagement. Check out York’s interactive EE Guide to learn about experiential education and the great tools that can help you be successful in all your EE activities.”  To learn more about Experiential Learning, visit

Las Nubes

The Las Nubes trip is a project of the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change (EUC) and is supported by the Fisher Fund for Neotropical Conservation. Through this experience, students are given an unprecedented opportunity to interact with and learn from the local rural Costa Rican communities through first-hand lessons on tropical ecology, sustainability, indigenous education, arts, health, and conservation. The Las Nubes Project supports the protection of the biological, ecological and social values of the Las Nubes Biological Reserve and adjacent area in southern Costa Rica.
