How Employers Can Get Involved
There are lots of ways you can share your professional and career know-how while engaging with our inspiring students and gaining valuable insights for your organization.
Work Focus
- Placements & Internships: Provide students with placement opportunities to develop in-demand professional working skills, competencies and experience in an organizational work environment.
- Guest Speaking: Share your professional and career expertise with students in professional development workshops and networking events. Act as a panelist or leader in panel discussions and speed-networking events.
Collaboration Focus
- Cross-Campus Capstone Classroom (C4): Is your organization facing a challenge but doesn’t have the resources to develop a proactive solution? Our unique capstone course engages community partners to develop projects in which a group of students work on a solution to your challenge. This interdisciplinary course involves students from all Faculties at YorkU, so you will have expertise from a wide variety of disciplines, such as environmental studies, engineering, liberal arts, sciences and health. This course runs from September to April; find more details here.
- Course Project: Collaborate or pitch a project within an EUC course. Students will analyze and provide insights into your organization’s challenges, goals or area of research interest.
- Civic Engagement: Students can engage directly with your organization by collaborating on a variety of activities, including mentoring, research, presentation, outreach, awareness, advocacy, event assistance and policy development.
In-class Focus
- Guest Speaking: Be a guest speaker in the classroom to provide your unique perspectives on course content. You can host a workshop to build essential skills relevant to course material, introduce case studies, lead interactive class discussions or conduct lab work.
