Description:
The HSBC Environmental Studies Award is available to students entering their third or fourth year of an undergraduate program within the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change. Selection will be based on academic achievement, community service within the last 3 years and financial need.
Eligibility:- Recipients must be undergraduate students in the third or fourth year in the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change at York University. A minimum of 25% of awards each year will be granted to Black or Indigenous students.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected persons.
- Be an Ontario resident.

- Students wishing to be considered for the award will be required to make a submission outlining their involvement in community service which includes a brief description on how they have made a positive contribution to the community and a letter of thanks or recognition by a representative of the community.
- This award is being established under York’s Special Programs for Black Students and Indigenous Students (developed under the Ontario Human Rights Code).
- The HSBC Award is issued to successful recipients once in their academic career in EUC.

- Step 2: Prepare and outline of your involvement in community service which included a brief description on how you have made a positive contribution to the community.
- Step 3: Submit a letter from the community representative with which you were engaged, expressing their appreciation for the work you accomplished and how it made a positive impact on their community.
- Step 4: Complete the award application by November 15.
